“Email on Three” Push email using SEVEN.
I’ve just installed the ‘email on three’ application onto my Nokia e71. It seems to be a rebranded version of SEVEN; a push email solution for various mobile devices including Symbian based mobile phones.
So far it seems to be pretty good, and although there are a few reports on the ‘tinterweb indicating poor battery life, later comments suggest that this has got better with recent updates to the software.
All of which leads me to the question of whether or not ‘email on three’ uses SMS messages to trigger email synchronisation or whether it keeps an data connection open back to three’s NOC?
Anyone happen to know?

As no one else has commented then I will.
Email on 3 uses silent SMS to trigger connection to the seven servers, this is the main difference between the seven beta and email on three.
This should improve battery life over the beta. You can tell if it is awaiting an sms trigger as it will say disconnected but still show the green equal signs against each account. On receipt of a trigger it will connect and email will be pushed.
I have noticed that there is a slight delay over the beta.

Thanks for the info. After a few days usage I’ve found the battery life to be acceptable to be honest. Overall a nifty solution!

Hi,
I have just started using the service and having problems with emails but now it makes more sense how long are the delays normally?
As I haven’t had any luck with Customer Services
